Walked Past It

Adam’s Thoughts
Sometimes all you need… is a little help from a friend.
(If you’re too young for the Beatles reference, there you go.)
At our mastermind dinners, we bring successful people together and ask three questions:
What’s going right?
What’s going wrong?
What do you need help with?
We break bread.
We laugh.
Sometimes we cry.
But most importantly, we share.
Ideas.
Experiences.
Truth.
These dinners only happen once a quarter, but honestly, they can feel like the most valuable thing a person experiences all year.
The conversations are open.
Nonjudgmental.
Freeing.
Inspiring.
And the people in the room become friends.
Sometimes two people meet for the very first time… and leave knowing more about each other than partners they’ve worked with for years.
Because here’s what I’ve realized:
In success, friendship may be one of the most valuable things you can have.
Most people chase success for the wrong reasons.
They’re trying to fill something.
But they don’t actually know what’s missing.
So they chase numbers.
Or status.
Or competition.
And as they try to fill that empty hole…
It just gets deeper.
Adam’s Lessons
Sometimes the answer you’re looking for…
Is the thing you already walked past.
A friend recently helped me realize that.
I had been searching for “the next thing.”
The next path.
The next endeavor worthy of my time, energy, resources, and focus.
And what I realized is…
The answer had already shown up.
I just walked right past it.
Not because it wasn’t right.
But because it was unfamiliar.
Uncomfortable.
Too real.
I think part of me wanted the next chapter to still feel safe.
But the thing I was looking for wasn’t really an idea anymore.
It was truth.
Something revealed.
Something given to me — by the muse, by God, by the universe… call it whatever you want.
But it was there.
And once I realized that…
I made a U-turn.
Went back.
Picked it up.
And now it’s coming along for the ride.
I don’t fully know where this road leads.
But for the first time in a while…
I’m truly excited about the journey.
So here’s my question for you this week:
What if the thing you’ve been searching for… is actually something you’ve already encountered, but weren’t ready to accept yet?
Reply and tell me. While I can’t respond to every message, Tom and I read every reply, and we genuinely appreciate hearing from you.
That’s all for this week.
See you next Saturday.
P.S.
