Adam’s Thoughts
I’m about to leave for a vacation.
And I really need it.
It’s been too long since I’ve taken this much time off. Tomorrow’s Friday, and I won’t be back until Monday… two Mondays from now.
And that’s intentional.
You know, I actually mandate that the people I coach — and honestly, anyone I care about — take a vacation every 90 days.
Why?
Because we need to step away.
Not just to avoid burnout…
But to create space.
Every single day, we’re surrounded by noise.
The work.
The clients.
The responsibilities.
The goals.
Even when it’s productive, it’s still noise.
And when you’re constantly in it, you never get the chance to hear what’s underneath it.
The signal.
That deeper voice.
That clarity.
That knowing.
And the only way to hear it… is to step away long enough to actually listen.
Adam’s Lessons
There’s something that happens when you finally detach.
When you’re not checking your phone.
Not solving problems.
Not pushing things forward.
When you’re just… being.
That’s when it happens.
The muse shows up.
And it taps you on the shoulder and says:
“Hey… everything you’ve been looking for? Here you go.”
And the reason it shows up then — not in the middle of your busiest week — is simple:
You’re finally ready to receive it.
If that same idea came to you two weeks ago, you would’ve ignored it.
You would’ve labeled it as noise.
You would’ve moved right past it.
But in these moments of stillness…
You can hear it.
You can understand it.
You can actually do something with it.
So yes — take the vacation to recharge. Take it to spend time with your family. Take it because you’ve earned it.
But more than anything…
Take it for the muse.
They’re waiting for you.
But they won’t wait forever.
So here’s my question for you this week:
When was the last time you truly detached — long enough to hear something deeper than the noise?
Reply and tell me. While I can’t respond to every message, Tom and I read every reply, and we genuinely appreciate hearing from you.
That’s all for this week.
See you next Saturday.
P.S.
Most self-employed people struggle to step away… because everything depends on them to keep moving. Click here to find out why so many founders feel like they can’t truly detach from their business.
