Adam's Thoughts

Today marks the 250th birthday of this great union we call the United States of America.

As I write this, I'm holding a copy of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.

To my right is an American flag sitting in one of the plants in my office.

Directly in front of me is a framed Bicentennial $2 bill and three coins my grandfather preserved years ago.

My grandfather was a Purple Heart recipient of World War II. Many other members of my family also served.

It reminds me how fortunate we are.

Every day, we wake up with freedoms that billions of people throughout history have only dreamed of.

Many of us have taken that freedom one step further.

We've built businesses.

We've charted our own course.

We've accepted the responsibility of creating something that serves others.

That's a remarkable privilege.

As I was reading the Declaration of Independence today, one passage stood out to me:

"...mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."

To me, it means this:

There comes a moment when you decide, "I'm not willing to live this way anymore."

You know the road ahead will be difficult.

You know there will be sacrifice.

But you choose it anyway.

As business owners, we shoulder that responsibility every day.

Not just for ourselves.

But for our families.

Our employees.

Our clients.

Our communities.

And for the incredible opportunity this country has given us to build something of our own.

Adam's Lessons

Freedom is one of the greatest gifts we'll ever receive.

Don't take it for granted.

Use it.

Protect it.

Honor it.

Build something worthy of it.

And remember those who made it possible.

God bless America.

And thank you to every man and woman who has served this country and protected the freedoms we enjoy today.

Happy 250th Birthday, America.

Here's to the next 250 years.

So here's my question for you this week:

What does freedom truly mean to you—and how are you using it to build a life that matters?

Reply and tell me. While I can't respond to every message, Tom and I read every reply, and we genuinely appreciate hearing from you.

That's all for this week.

See you next Saturday.

Sincerely,

A Proud American
