THE SIMPLE NEWSLETTER - ISSUE # 018

Welcome to Edition 18 of The Simple Newsletter. In this issue, I share a powerful reflection on the quiet nature of impact and the importance of what he calls aggressive patience—the blend of persistence, purpose, and trust in the long game. Over the years, I've discovered that the seeds we plant often bloom long after we’ve forgotten we planted them, and recent moments of gratitude from others reminded me just how far those ripples can reach.

This edition is a reminder that your efforts matter, even when they don’t produce immediate results. It’s about recognizing the value of consistency, showing appreciation, and keeping the cycle of connection and growth alive. Let these words encourage you to keep showing up—and to take a moment to thank someone who helped shape your path.

ADAM'S THOUGHT

Over the years, I’ve learned that some of my greatest successes unfold quietly, hidden from view, only to resurface much later. For over 25 years, I’ve spent time giving advice, sharing my insights, and trying to help others move forward. But here’s the thing – rarely does it yield instant gratification. Sure, sometimes you get that immediate spark, that “aha” moment, but most of the time, it takes weeks, months, or even years to see the results.

Recently, though, I’ve been reminded of why the wait is always worth it. Over the past few weeks, I’ve received phone calls and DMs from people I’ve worked with in the past. They’ve reached out to express their gratitude, to share how something I said or did years ago helped them become the person they are today. They told me how a piece of advice, a conversation, or a little push helped them build the life they’d always dreamed of.

These moments have made me think deeply about the concept of time and what it takes to succeed. It’s clear to me that achieving results takes what I like to call aggressive patience. I love that phrase so much, in fact, that it became the title of the final chapter in my last book.

Aggressive patience isn’t about waiting around and hoping everything will magically work out. It’s about trusting the process while staying laser-focused and determined. It’s pursuing your goals with intent and action, knowing that persistence creates the possibility of something great unfolding.

And what I’m most grateful for lately is the grit and determination of the people who’ve recently reached out to me. They didn’t just passively listen to advice. Instead, they embraced it, adapted it, and put in the hard work to arrive at their unique and extraordinary destinations. Their willingness to keep going inspires me, just as they’ve said my words once inspired them.

ADAM'S LESSON

Take a moment today to share your gratitude. Think about it – when was the last time you reached out to someone to thank them? Not just for something they did, but for who they are and how they’ve shown up in your life.

The truth is, the people who impact us the most often don’t even realize it. Maybe it was something they said, some advice they shared, or just the way they carry themselves every single day. But unless we reach out, they might never know.

By expressing gratitude, we show people that their efforts, big or small, don’t go unnoticed. A single message, a quick call, or even a simple note can inspire them to keep going, keep trusting, and keep building. And who knows? Your words could give them the energy and motivation they need to find and pursue their next step toward greatness.

The lesson here is simple but powerful – gratitude fuels connection. Connection fuels growth. And growth fuels us all.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

We are all in this together. Life is a cycle, an endless loop of giving, receiving, and growing. But if we break that chain by staying silent, by keeping our gratitude to ourselves, we miss out on so much.

Keep the lines open. Keep communicating. Keep sharing your faith in one another. Because that’s how we all move forward together.

Let’s keep talking.

Let’s keep going.

And as always, don’t forget to Do The Thing.

-Adam
