THE SIMPLE NEWSLETTER - ISSUE # 004

Welcome to latest issue of The Simple Newsletter. In the hustle of building a business and pursuing your purpose, it’s easy to forget the bigger picture: why we started in the first place. Sometimes, we need a moment to pause, reflect, and recalibrate—to remind ourselves that the life we’re creating isn’t just about work; it’s about living.

ADAM'S THOUGHT

Sometimes we just take this thing way too seriously.

Yes, running a business is important. It’s about generating revenue, serving clients, and doing fulfilling work that aligns with your purpose. But why do we do it?

We do it so we can live amazing lives—both in the moments we’re working and in the moments we’re not. The issue is that we rarely give ourselves that second piece. We get so caught up in improving the business, putting out fires, and handling every client need that we forget to care for ourselves.

At the end of the day, you might feel satisfied because you put in the work, stayed committed, and kept that CEO mindset driving you forward. But what if we had that same CEO mindset (Commitment, Effort, Obsession) when it came to our personal lives? For ourselves, our families, and our friendships?

It sounds great in theory. We dream about it—"one day" when we’ve achieved enough, we’ll take the time for ourselves. But when will that "one day" come? When will we finally say, "I’ve done enough to step away"?

The truth is, waiting for "enough" often means waiting forever. But what if we didn’t wait? What if we allowed ourselves to enjoy the life we’re building—even for a weekend, a few hours, or just 15 minutes?

ADAM'S LESSON

When the chance to simply be—either with yourself or someone else—comes along, take it. It might not fit into your schedule. It might disrupt your workflow. But if you push it aside, it may never come around again.

Time doesn’t wait. Your child grows up. Your friendships fade if left untended. The golden moments you could spend with them are gone if you don’t grasp them now.

You’re reading this because you care deeply about your work, your business, and possibly even your dreams. But I want to challenge you. Next time an opportunity to connect presents itself, pause. Don’t just hear the call of your child, your friend, or even your own heart—listen. And here’s the key to listening: do the thing.

Today, while I was working, my daughter came into my office to tell me a story. I was in the middle of a productive flow, totally immersed in my tasks. Normally, I would’ve said, “I’m busy right now. We can talk later.” But this time, I stopped.

We sat together for just 15 minutes. No distractions, no devices—just the two of us talking. It felt like we spent hours together. I learned about the things that have been on her mind, her excitement for the day, reflections on time with her friends, gratitude for recent joys, and her plans for her friendships ahead.

Here’s the amazing thing. Those 15 minutes didn’t just impact her—they recharged me. They reminded me of why I do this work in the first place. They gave me fresh energy to jump back into my tasks with renewed purpose.

Because, after all, I’m not just working for the sake of working. I’m building this business—this life—for her, for us. But while I’m building it, I can’t forget to live it too.

Take the opportunity when it shows up. Stand still in the moment. It matters more than you think.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Life isn’t about waiting for the “right time” to enjoy the things and people that matter most. It’s about finding those moments and choosing to embrace them, even when it feels inconvenient. When you stop, connect, and truly live in those moments, you’ll find they bring more meaning and energy to everything you do.

Take a breath. Step away when it counts. Live the life you’re building today.

With simplicity,

Adam
