THE SIMPLE NEWSLETTER - ISSUE #025
This week, I reflect on the real reason my life feels full of “lucky” moments—and why it has nothing to do with luck. It’s about the quiet power of showing up, following your instincts, and investing in the right people and moments without expecting anything in return. In this issue, he unpacks how intuition and small actions compound into big inspiration—and what that means for how we build our lives and businesses.
Let’s dive into his lesson on intentional investing—in yourself, your relationships, and your gut.
ADAM'S THOUGHTS:
I’ve been thinking about how fortunate I am to have an incredible group of friends and an amazing network of business colleagues. Just today, I was hit with inspiration multiple times—from a friend who’s making a big impact by supporting the local Little League, to a business owner I admire who constantly motivates me from afar. Every now and then, we exchange a meaningful conversation in the DMs, and it leaves me with a lot to think about.
At first, I thought, "Wow, I’m just so lucky." But the more I reflect, the more I realize this isn’t really about luck at all. It’s about preparation meeting opportunity. The truth is, I’ve spent years investing in relationships. Not because I had some hidden agenda or an endgame in mind, but simply because I felt drawn to these people. I trusted my intuition. When something or someone felt worth investing my time and energy into, I followed through.
What’s amazing is that those little investments led to moments like this morning, where what looks like "serendipity" unfolds in front of you. That’s what’s waiting for all of us when we put in the effort to build and nurture connections without expecting something immediate or tangible in return.
ADAM'S LESSON:
The lesson is simple but powerful: Invest.
Not every investment pays off immediately, and that’s okay. The real return happens when you invest in yourself—for instance, when you take a spark of inspiration and act on it. What matters isn’t sitting back and waiting for the perfect moment but jumping in when your instincts nudge you.
You’ve probably felt it before. That moment when you think, I should talk to that person. Or, I should stay up late tonight and finish the thing. Or even, I should take the day off to recharge. That feeling isn’t random; it’s your intuition speaking to you.
The key is to listen. Trust your gut when it tells you something is worth your time and energy. More often than not, it’s right. Start seeing those gut instincts as little reminders to invest—not just in external things, but in building the best version of yourself. You’re a better investor than you give yourself credit for.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Just trust yourself man and go do the thing.
Until next time,
Adam
