DO It Anyway

Adam’s Thoughts
I don’t want to do the things I have to do today.
But I’m going to do them anyway.
This morning, for example, I had to sit down and write this newsletter.
Do I have to?
No.
But I have to.
And if that makes sense to you, it’s probably why you keep reading these newsletters, listening to the podcast, attending the masterminds, or following along with what Tom and I are building.
Because this is what success actually looks like.
Success is doing the things you don’t want to do… and doing them anyway.
We’re all trying to get somewhere.
We have a vision.
A destination.
A future we want to create.
But most of the things we do every day aren’t the things we want to do.
They’re the things we have to do so we eventually get to do the things we want to do.
That’s discipline.
That’s the path.
And while success may feel like the goal, success is really just a moment in time.
The dissatisfaction we feel each day is often what keeps us moving forward toward it.
Adam’s Lessons
I’ve realized something.
Most people want success.
But not everyone wants to do the work success requires.
That’s the difference.
Successful people aren’t special.
They’re just willing to keep doing the things others stop doing.
They make the calls.
They have the conversations.
They write the newsletter.
They show up.
And here’s the interesting part:
Many of them haven’t gotten the result yet.
They keep doing the work anyway.
Because they understand something most people miss.
The work is the goal.
Yes, I know you’ve heard, “It’s about the journey, not the destination.”
But I don’t mean stop and smell the roses.
I mean the person you become on the journey is the entire point.
The habits you build.
The discipline you develop.
The character you forge.
That’s what allows success to happen over and over again.
Success isn’t a destination you arrive at.
It’s the byproduct of becoming the kind of person who keeps showing up.
Even when they don’t feel like it.
Especially when they don’t feel like it.
So here’s my question for you this week:
What’s one thing you know you need to do right now, but keep putting off because you don’t feel like doing it?
Reply and tell me. While I can’t respond to every message, Tom and I read every reply, and we genuinely appreciate hearing from you.
That’s all for this week.
See you next Saturday.
P.S.
The difference between where you are and where you want to be is often a handful of things you keep putting off. Click below to find out why so many business owners get stuck knowing what to do, but not doing it.
