The Simple Newsletter - Issue # 052
As we come to the final days of the year, this edition is less about strategy and more about reflection. Not the kind you rush through, but the kind that reminds you what actually mattered. Because before we charge into what’s next, it’s worth pausing to recognize how far we’ve already come.
ADAM'S THOUGHTS:
So this is it.
The final day—or at least the final weekend—of the year.
When you look back, it’s funny how hard it can be to remember just how good it was.
One thing I’ve done year after year is reflect on the greatest moments, both personally and professionally, from each month. And every time, it surprises me.
Because what looks meaningful on paper isn’t always what was meaningful in your heart and soul.
But when you actually sit down and reflect—really reflect—you often realize:
Damn. What a great year this has been.
At least… if you give yourself the chance to see it.
ADAM'S LESSON:
Take 15–20 minutes today. That’s it.
Here’s what you do:
Write down each month of the year — January through December.
Under each month, write two words: Personal and Professional.
For each month, write down one meaningful moment in each category.
You might need to jog your memory:
Look at your calendar
Check old tickets or emails
Scroll through your photos (this is always my favorite)
Some months, it’ll be hard to choose just one.
Other months, it may feel almost impossible to find anything at all.
That’s okay. There are no rules here.
Extra moments are fine. Blank months are fine.
The purpose isn’t to judge yourself.
The purpose isn’t to see what you did wrong.
The purpose is to step back and realize what you’ve actually built—
for yourself, and for your family.
Or... We’ve made it simple... we have an app for this!!! Try it here.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
We do this so we remember what the hell we’re working so hard for in 2026.
Before you plan the future, honor the year that got you here.
